This August, I swapped the studio for the great outdoors and joined Damon at the Stock Gaylard Oak Fair. The Oak Fair is such a special event, it's a lively celebration of woodcraft, traditional skills, and countryside living, all set in the beautiful surroundings of the Stock Gaylard estate. It’s full of charm and variety; you can wander from chainsaw carving to basket weaving, before discovering some of the finest handmade furniture in the country.

This year was even more meaningful for me, as I was there to support Damon, who is my better half (!) and who has been steadily building a reputation for his bespoke timber furniture. His stand was filled with beautifully crafted tables, consoles, and lighting, all designed with such respect for the grain, form, and natural imperfections of the wood. Each piece feels grounded in nature yet refined enough to sit completely effortlessly within a contemporary interior. I was super proud to be there supporting him once again.
One of the best parts of the day is seeing visitors drawn in by Damon’s work. People cannot resist running their hands over the surfaces, asking about the timber, and getting curious about the stories behind each piece. People are so interested in chatting about sourcing and sustainability and even design inspiration, it's a real sign that people are becoming more interested in where their furniture comes from and the care that goes into making it.
For me, the fair was also a reminder of why I love collaboration. Interior design and furniture-making are two disciplines that naturally elevate each other, and Damon’s work is a perfect example of craftsmanship that enhances the spaces we create at Inuti Interiors. So watch this space for potential future collaborations!
I left Stock Gaylard feeling inspired, a little sun-kissed, and incredibly proud to support Damon as he continues to grow his business and exhibit this beautiful craftsmanship.
