Material Matters: Our Inspiring Session with Solus’ Bobby Caran

Today, we had the pleasure of meeting with Bobby Caran from Solus Ceramics — a name synonymous with cutting-edge surface design. The session was more than just a material review; it was a conversation about craftsmanship, innovation, and the subtle art of specification.

We explored some of Solus' latest tile collections—ranging from luxurious marble effect porcelain to clay pantelleria, surfaces that feel both grounded and bold. Bobby talked us through some of their newest textures and finishes, going into detail on specs that align beautifully with our values: durability, authenticity, and aesthetic longevity.

It’s always exciting to see materials that not only look beautiful but tell a story—about how they’re made, where they come from, and what they offer a space. From sustainable production methods to versatile colour palettes, we were left with more than just samples; we left with ideas.
